Sataopisto

In Finland there are about two hundred adult education centres called ‘kansalaisopisto’. They promote lifelong learning opportunities for everyone. Anyone can attend the courses irrespective of their professional or educational background.

Each adult education centre is unique; the curriculum is planned locally on a yearly basis to meet local needs and interests.

Huittinen Adult Education Centre -  ‘Sataopisto’- is a government supported college owned by the town of Huittinen. We operate in Huittinen, Eura, Harjavalta and Punkalaidun and have around 4500 students and 170 teachers.

The college offers a wide variety of courses for people of different ages, from children to senior citizens. Courses deal with arts, arts and crafts, music, languages, information technology and physical exercise. Children are given basic visual art and arts and crafts tuition, in accordance with national and local curricula.

Anyone can participate in our courses and also suggest new ones.

If you are registered as job-seeker at the job centre or you have recently immigrated to Finland, we offer you a voucher to participate in one of our courses free of charge.
