Electronically sent documents are entered into the diary and forwarded to the correct person or department to deal with the matter.  Documents sent by e-mail are acknowledged by sending a receipt to the sender.  Senders send their message at their own responsibility.  Remember to write your name and contact details, otherwise the matter will not be forwarded for further attention or consideration.

If an official matter has to be dealt with in a certain time frame, an electronically sent message sent by a specified person is accepted.  Electronic signatures cannot be use; therefore a document concerning a matter requiring a signature must be followed by a signed document sent by post or delivered in person.

 

Sending a message to a specific member of staff does not guarantee that the matter concerned will be officially forwarded or dealt with; individuals’ e-mail addresses are intended for personal messages to and from town staff members, and the holder of each e-mail account is responsible for how messages arriving to their e-mail account are handled.
